Problem reading data in MacRats

Good afternoon

I have a daily data set in excel (xls) format. When I open the data in WinRats I don't have any trouble but in MacRats the data jumps from one date to another omitting some dates. For example the data jumps from observation 49 to 106 omitting the data in between as you can see bellow. I have tried to use another formats but the problem persists but in WinRats everything is ok.

Thanks for your help

Alejandro

What is it that you're showing there?

When I use these commands

OPEN DATA "/Users/Alejandrogamboa/Research Warwick/Chapter III/STARGARCH.xlsx"
DATA(FORMAT=XLSX,ORG=COLUMNS,SHEET="COP") 1 3420 RETCOP INTCOP INTMCOP FUNDCOP IDIFFCOP
table
print

and after the option print this is what I get. I just show one part of what I am getting to show that MacRats is missing some observations.

You would have to send us a copy of the data file (to support@estima.com). The code for handling an XLSX file is identical on the two systems, so I'm not sure what might be happening.

Your data are actually fine. If you check the TABLE instructions, they match. It's the PRINT instruction that's having a problem with the volume of information being thrown at the editor. (Windows and Mac differ somewhat on how the editor works).

I just saw this and it seems all the regressions and models that I run use the right number of observations that my data has. Thanks a lot for this Tom

Best,
