Dark/High-Contrast Modes

Home Page

← Previous Next →

WinTD adapts all windows to the use of dark mode (Macintosh) or high-contrast modes (Windows). The background color is typically a very dark gray, while the standard foreground is white. The highlights and borders are chosen to provide good readability vs the background while also being clearly different from each other and from the foreground.

Note that Windows also has a separately selected "dark mode", but that is only partially supported. The main windows will have reversed colors, but dialog boxes are still light gray backgrounds. By contrast, the "high-contrast" modes redefine all the interface colors.
