Team and Club Codes |
WinTD offers three codes to group individuals for pairing and/or prize purposes. Note that you do not (in general) need to do anything special to get prizes by rating groups, as the rating information can be used for that, so this is for grouping unrelated to ratings.
These are (by far) the most commonly used of the three, and are what are used to identify the school of a player in combined individual/team tournaments. For pairing purposes, they can be used to (almost) completely avoid pairings among players representing the same team, and also support slightly weaker preferences than that. For prize purposes, they can be used to generate team standings for aggregate scores from individuals for teams, and can also be used for team standings which include players from different sections.
Team codes can have up to six characters, and are case-insensitive (so cgwhy and CGwhy are considered to be the same).
Club codes are mainly used for weaker pairing preferences, and can be used in tournaments to avoid pairing (for instance) family members. They can also be used for team standings through the General Team Standings dialog.
Club codes can have up to five characters and are case-insensitive.
Secondary team codes (or Team(2) codes) are used only as a secondary type of coding for general team standings; they are ignored in the pairing process.
Team(2) codes can have up to six characters and are case-insensitive.
