Ready Mode and Local Mode |
Normally, when you are working in the input window, hitting <Enter> or clicking on the toolbar icon executes the current line (or set of lines) as a RATS instruction. Because you may occasionally want to simply enter some text in the input window, without executing the lines immediately, RATS allows you to switch from this default "Ready" mode to "Local" mode.
When RATS is in Local mode, you cannot execute any instructions. Hitting <Enter> simply inserts a carriage return, and the "Run" toolbar icon is disabled. When you are ready to execute instructions, you simply switch back to "Ready" mode and run the instructions.
There are two ways to switch between Ready and Local modes:
1.Click on the "Ready/Local" toolbar icon. The icon indicates that you are currently in Ready mode. Clicking on this icon switches to Local mode, and changes the icon to "Local/Ready". Clicking on this icon will switch you back to Ready mode.
2.Type <Ctrl>+L. Hitting <Ctrl>+L switches you from Ready to Local, or vice versa. The toolbar icon will change to reflect the current status.
