While primarily designed for running Swiss System tournaments, WinTD can also be used to run Round Robin tournaments. The basic steps are described below. See Pairing System: Round Robin for details.
- To use a Round Robin pairing scheme for a tournament section, you need to select the Round Robin choice in the Pairing Method section of the Add/Edit a Section dialog box. WinTD will not let you switch from a Swiss System pairing to Round Robin after pairing a round, so you should be sure to select the Round Robin setting when you create the section.
- Once you've selected the Round Robin pairing method, just follow the usual steps for running a tournament. See the Setting Up and Running a Tournament, A Worked Example, and How To contents topics for further help. Because pairings in a round robin follow a schedule, and don't depend upon early round results, you are given the option when pairing a round to Pair All Remaining Rounds.
Notes
- Ordinarily, WinTD randomly assigns pairing numbers to players in a round robin. If you want to assign the pairing numbers yourself, use the Section-Manual Pairing Numbers operation. You can do this any time before round one has been paired.
