How To: Create a Team Tournament Section

If you are running a Team Section, create a section in the normal fashion, but in the Section Type box of the Add/Edit a Section dialog box, choose "Team" (or "Board-Weighted Team" for a board-weighted tournament) . This will activate the Board/Scores per Team box, into which you will enter the desired number of boards. It will also activate the Team v Team tab which allows you to choose various settings that apply only to team or board weighted team sections. The most important one there is Play in Rating Order: if your rules require that teams play in rating order, switch that on, while if you allow the teams to play in an order of their own choosing, make sure that that is switched off.

1.Make the other choices in the normal fashion. Note that your choice for rating priority for pairing numbers will be applied on a player by player basis in computing the team average rating and the board order.

2.The Pairing Preferences choices now apply to the team versus team matches. If a school or club can field more than one team, and you don't want them to play each other, you can use these choices to restrict the pairing process. Just set the team or club fields for the entries for the separate teams so they match for teams whose pairings are to be restricted.
