How To: Create a Tournament

See Setting Up and Running a Tournament for a complete list of all the steps required to set up and run a typical tournament.

1.Create a new tournament file by selecting the File>New Tournament... operation. This will pop up the Tournament Info dialog box, where you choose the format (new or old), and do settings which will apply to the tournament as a whole. (Note that most information about how the tournament is run is controlled at the section level). The tournament initially has no name (if you do File>Properties, it will show as assigned a NONAMExx file name)—you will provide a file name and location when you first save it (with File>Save or File>Save As).

2.Create at least one section for the new tournament, using the Section>Add operation. This brings up the Add/Edit a Section dialog box. Even if your tournament has just one section, you must do this. Note that this comes up automatically when you first do the File>New Tournament command.
