How To: Export Player Data from WinTD |
There are several ways to export player information from WinTD into another application, or another file format, including spreadsheet files and HTML (web) pages
Exporting Data to an HTML (Web) page
There are two ways to export data to to an HTML file for posting on a web site. To export player data for one or more sections, the best option is usually the Reports>Export to Web operation. To export the contents of a single Player, Master Player, Team, Games, or Data window, use the File>Export operation, described below. See Creating Reports in HTML Format for more details.
Exporting Data to Various File Formats
You can use the File>Export operation to export player information from a Player Window or a Master Player Window to an external file. You can create comma- or tab-delimited text files, spreadsheet files or HTML (Web) files. Here's how:
1.Display a Players Window or a Master Player Window. If needed, change its layout to show the information you want shown.
2.If you only want to export some of the players in the window, select (highlight) the players you want to export. Otherwise, just skip to step 3.
3.Select the operation File>Export. In the dialog box, select the desired file format from the "Save File As Type" list and enter the target directory and filename. Click on OK to create the file.
Note that you can also use the File>Export operation to export data from Report, Team, Games or Data windows.
Copying to Another Application Using Copy and Paste
You can also use the Edit>Copy operation to copy and paste information into another application. Format the window as you wish and select the region you want to export. Do Edit>Copy. In the other application, do Edit>Paste or Edit>Paste Special. WinTD sends the information to the clipboard in several different formats. Note that it will always include the column headers.
