read data

Unread post by upani »

Hi,

I am trying to read an irregular time series from XLSX file.

DATA(FORMAT=XLSX,NOLABELS,ORG=COLUMNS,TOP=2) 1 2037 FP SP

I do not understand NOLABELS, TOP?

If i will write
DATA(FORMAT=XLSX,ORG=COLUMNS) 1 2037 FP SP, Is there any mistake?

With regards,
Upananda

It depends upon what's in the first line of the file. TOP=2 means to ignore the first line, using only the information from line 2 on. NOLABELS means that there are no (usable) labels on the file, so the range of information includes only data, not labels with data under them. This would be used typically if the column headers aren't legal RATS variable names. For instance, if you have "Forward Price" and "Spot Price" labels on the file, that combination of options would skip over those and assign FP and SP as the two series names.
