Global Insight (DRI Basic, Citibase) Data Files

RATS supports reading data directly from the Full Global Insight (formerly known as DRI Basic and Citibase).

To read the Global Insight/DRI data directly into RATS, you must:

•have the data stored on a hard drive.

•tell RATS where to find the data, by setting the "Global Insight (Citibase) Directory" field in the Preferences... dialog box.

•Use the FORMAT=DRI (or FORMAT=CITIBASE) option on the DATA instruction, and specify the list of series you want to read. Because the database is so large, you need to request a specific set of series; if you don't supply a list of series, RATS won't read any data from the file.
