Wizards are dialogs which help you construct RATS instructions for doing certain important tasks. While some of these provide access to the entire range of options for a particular calculation, most only handle the most important and common ones. They operate by writing (to your Input Window) an instruction or collection of instructions. That way, you don't have to repeat the process if you ever need to do it again—just save the file with the generated instructions and use that in the future. Also, once you have instructions written, you can often just edit those to add more options or change the input series without having to run back through the wizard.

The most heavily used of the wizards is unquestionably Data: Other Formats since just about everyone has data, and getting the data in correctly in the first place is an important step. Function Lookup is probably a distant second. For other instructions, how much you rely upon wizards vs copy-paste-edit of existing code vs just directly typing in instructions will depend upon how often you use RATS and the particular instructions involved. The instructions (and in some cases procedures) which have wizards will have links to them in their explanations in the help, so you can see whether the wizard seems likely to be helpful in using it.
