How To: Adjourn a Game

Home Page

← Previous Next →

If a game hasn't been completed when you need to pair the next round, you don't need to do anything special. When you pair the round, WinTD will pop up an Adjourned Game Dialog Box for each game lacking a result. This gives you the opportunity to indicate what score you want to give each player for the purposes of pairing this round only. These scores don't have to add up to 1.0. For instance, if A has the advantage, but B has some chances, you might want to pair A as if she won and B as if he drew. That way, you aren't likely to be off by more than 0.5 point on either player.

The game will still be open and you can just put the result in when you get it. Since it won't be in a current round, see How To: Check a Player's Games to bring it back into a window. Double click on the game and enter the correct result.

If the game remains adjourned through another round, you will see the same dialog box when you pair the next round. You will have to enter the information again.

If you open a Games Window and do the Games>Show Open operation, WinTD will display only those games for which no result has been entered. This can be a handy way to check for incomplete games or to verify that all results have been entered. Use Games>Show All to switch back to showing all games.
