How To: Compute FIDE Norm Information |
WinTD can compute tentative FIDE norm performances. In order to do this, you'll need to do similar preparation work to that needed for making a FIDE Rating Report. Once you're ready, do FIDE>Show FIDE Norm Info. This will create a Report Window with the following fields:
|
Name |
Players name |
|
ID |
ID code |
|
Ttl |
Title |
|
N |
Number of ratable games against FIDE rated opponents |
|
Pts |
Points scored in those games |
|
RC |
Average rating of opponents |
|
PR |
Performance rating (function of N, Pts and RC) |
|
Norm |
Highest norm for which the PR qualifies (if any) |
There are a number of things to note about this:
•This isn't intended to be an official report. It lists all players in the section, including, for instance, the GM's, and not just players who are seeking norms.
•It does the norm calculations for anyone with at least one ratable game.
While the calculations are done according to the FIDE rules, it's the organizer's job to use the information in the table to locate the players who have played enough games and who have qualified for a norm for a higher title.
