How To: Remove a Player

Home Page

← Previous Next →

If you just want to withdraw a player from future rounds, see How To: Check Players In and Out. What we are talking about here is actually removing from the tournament records a player who played no games.

The actual process is quite simple, select the player from a Players Window, and do the Edit>Clear operation. The only problem you are likely to run into here is that you can't do this if the player has any games listed, even forfeits.

To get rid of meaningless "games," select the player from the Players Window and use the Players>List Games operation. In the Games Window that you have just created, select the games and do the Edit>Clear operation. Just be careful that you aren't deleting information which affects a player who is still in the tournament. If the "no-show" was paired in round one, and his opponent got a forfeit win, your safest bet is to leave things as is, since the no-show will be withdrawn when you put in the forfeit result. If you do delete the forfeit game, make sure you give the opponent a full point bye for the round (How To: Assign Byes).
