If you allow players to arrange for bye rounds, or if you want to force the odd-player bye to go to a particular player before pairing a round, you have several ways to do this:

When you add or edit the information for a player, you can click on the Assign Byes button in the Tournament Info tab in the Add/Edit a Player dialog box. This brings up the Assign Byes dialog box, which allows you to assign byes to the selected player. You can assign full-point, half-point, or zero-point byes for any unplayed round.

You can select a player from a Players Window (How To: Display a List of Players). Select the operation Players>Assign Byes. This also brings up the Assign Byes dialog box.

If you have a Players Window formatted to include the round (using Edit>Change Layout...), you can also assign a bye by double-clicking on one of the player's unplayed rounds. This will pop up a dialog box allowing you to pick the type of bye the player is to receive for that round.

If you are importing the tournament entries from a text or spreadsheet file, you can code the bye requests into a byes field.

If you would like a player not to receive a bye because he or she has already played a filler or otherwise has had a disrupted tournament, you can click on the Keep in Score Group box in the Tournament Info tab in the Add/Edit a Player Dialog Box.
