EDIT Instruction

EDIT is rarely used, and thus is no longer documented in the Reference Manual. In most cases, you'll want to open the file using File—Open and edit or create series using the series window and toolbars, as described in the Wizard section below.

EDIT( options ) fileseries

Brings up a screen-oriented series editor. This allows you to edit series stored on a RATS format data file, or create new series. You must open (or create) a RATS format data file for editing (with DEDIT or ENVIRONMENT) before using EDIT. See Series Editing Window for details on using the series editor.

Wizard

You can edit existing series by using File—Open to open a RATS format data file, and then double-clicking on the series you want to edit.

You can create new series by clicking on the toolbar icon or the Data/Graphics—Create Series operation. Use File—New RATSData to create series on a new RATS format file.

Parameters

fileseries

name of series to edit (can be a new series)

Option

MODAL/[NOMODAL]

Use MODAL if you want processing to be suspended until the dialog box is closed.
