How To: Do Cross-Round Pairings |
The Manual Pairing dialog box provides an easy way to do cross-round pairings. Here are the basic steps:
1.Go to the Sections Window.
2.Select a section. You cannot do pairings which include players from separate sections. See How To: Pair Across Sections if you need to do that.
3.Choose the operation Section>Enter Manual Pairing.... This brings up the Manual Pairing dialog box.
4.Select the player for White from the left column and the player for Black from the right column. Enter the desired round numbers in the corresponding Round fields.
5.If you want WinTD to assign the colors, just choose either player as White, the other as Black, get the round numbers correct in each column, and then click on the "Assign Colors" button in the dialog box.
6.Click on OK to set up the pairing. If either of the players has already been paired for that round, WinTD will ask whether or not you want to delete the previous pairing. Clicking on OK will replace the previous pairing. Clicking on cancel will cancel the manual pairing operation.
7.Repeat 2 through 6 if you need to enter additional pairings.
To enter results for a cross-round game, you can either:
•Display a Games Window for either of the rounds involved in the pairing (using the operation Section>List Games-Specific Round). You can then use either the quick keys or dialog box method to enter the game result, or
•Display a Players Window for the section, do Edit>Change Layout, and choose the cross-table style from the dialog box. This will display all the games for all the players in the section. Double click on the cross-round game from either player's list. This will bring up the Game Results dialog box, allowing you to enter the result.
