The following are fields available for importing player data to a Master Player file or a tournament. The source file needs a header row which has an appropriate field name at the top. Note that the column name is case-insensitive. For some column types, there are several possible headers that can be used. Other than providing a name, none of the fields are required.


 

Base Information (for Tournament or Master Player)

Name

Name (as a single field). You can also use separate first and last name fields, which can have any column names, though First and Last are the obvious choices. The choice in how names are imported is covered in the Name Processing section in the Select Import Fields dialog.

ID

The ID to be used to identify players.

Exp

US Chess expiration date. The contents can be either a full date (yyyy/mm/dd) or just mmyy. Use 9999 for life.

St or State or Fed

State or Federation (up to 3 characters)

Gr or Grade

Prize group (up to 2 characters)

Team

Team code (up to 6 characters)

Club

Club code (up to 6 characters)

Team(2)

Secondary team code (up to 6 characters)

Ty or Type or Sex or MF

The type (typically sex) of the player. Should be M or F. T is used for teams. N (or any other character) is unknown or not applicable.

Title

Players title (up to 3 characters)

Sp or Special

Special tag character

Rate or Rtng or Rating or Main

Main rating (integer or real number). Use a blank or empty cell (not a zero) for unrated.

Local or Second

Secondary rating. Use a blank or empty cell (not a zero) for unrated.

Email or E-Mail

Email address

Phone

Phone number

Birthdate

Birthdate (in whatever form you have).


 


 

Tournament-Specific Information (Tournament import only)

Section assignment

This can have any name (not covered by the other fields) which you select with the Section Tag field on the Select Import Fields dialog. The contents need to be single characters which you will use in the Import Tag field when defining each section in the Add/Edit a Section dialog.

Requested byes

This can have any name (not covered by the other fields) which you select with the Bye Field in the Select Import Fields dialog. For multiple byes, separate the requested rounds by spaces or commas. You can also use start-end notation for a range of rounds. Examples are 6 (round six only); 2,4,6 (rounds 2, 4 and 6), 7-9 (rounds seven through nine). Note that all byes done using this will be 1/2 point—you will have to edit the player information later to downgrade 1/2 point byes to zero where you need them.

Status

A player's status (whether active or not). Use "Out" for inactive. Anything else is "in".

Pd

Indicates whether the player has paid all fees. Use Y/N coding.

Prize Limit

Maximum monetary prize the player can win. Use blank for no limit.

SeedPts

Number of points credited to the player prior to round 1.

USCF.State

State (FR for foreign). It can also have a 3 character federation.

USCF.Expiry

USCF.Regular

US Chess over-the-board regular rating  (use blank/empty field for unrated)

USCF.Quick

USCF.OLregular

US Chess online regular rating  (use blank/empty field for unrated)
