Getting Started / Getting Started: The WinTD Interface / Master Player Files |
A Master Player File holds information on a group of players. It is very easy to add players from a Master File into a tournament. We would strongly recommend that you use Master Player Files (as opposed to entering players directly into a tournament) if you have players who will be frequent participants in your tournaments.
You can either keep all the players on a single master file, or use several files. It's fairly easy to find players in the Master Player Window which displays the contents of a master file. You can move around by just typing the first few characters of a player's last name (if the list is sorted by name) or team name (if sorted by teams). Because of this, our preference is to use a single large file.
To create a new Master Player File, use the Master(Players)>New Master List... operation. This will create an empty NONAME file—you'll give it a name when you save it. To open an existing master player file, use Master(Players)>Open Master List.... Either operation will open up a Master Player Window. To view/edit the setup, use Master(Players)>Edit Setup.
