WinTD

The following operations are available from the Edit menu.

Undo/Redo

You can undo and redo up to fifty operations. For a tournament, Undo/Redo applies to any operation on the tournament as a whole, not necessarily the active window. WinTD keeps a separate Undo/Redo record for each master player window and each team window. Note: if you undo several operations, and then make a change, the "redo" stack will be cleared out, and you'll have to do those operations again.

Cut

Works on Players, Master(Player) and Master(Team) windows, but only if some items are selected. Removes the selected items from the window, and copies the information to an internal clipboard. Note that you cannot "cut" players who have game records without first eliminating the games—see How To: Remove a Player.

Copy

Works on Players, Master(Player), Master(Team), Games and Report windows. For all these window types, it copies the selected information into the clipboard in a number of different formats including tab delimited text and "DIF" (a text-based representation of a spreadsheet). You can paste this into another application (such as a word processor or spreadsheet) using its Paste or Paste Special operations. For Player, Master Player and Team windows, it also copies the selected items to an internal clipboard where they can be pasted into a like window within WinTD.

Paste

Works on Players, Master(Player), and Master(Team) windows. For a Players Window, this pastes the player information (if any) from the local clipboard into a Players Window. If you "cut" the names from a Players Window, pasting into a different Players Window will transfer the players to the new section. If you "copied" the names, those players will be duplicated in the new section. For a Master Player Window, this inserts the players from the clipboard and for a Team Window, this inserts teams from the clipboard.

Clear (Delete)

Works on the Players, Master(Player), Games, and Master(Team) windows. Deletes the selected items (players, teams, or games) from the active window. The information is not copied to the clipboard and thus cannot be pasted later. Note that you cannot "clear" players who have game records without first eliminating the games—see How To: Remove a Player.

Select All

Selects (highlights) all of the items in the active window.

Find...

Works on the Players, Master(Player) or Master(Team) windows. This brings up the Find dialog box, which lets you locate a string (such as a first name) within a chosen field in the window.

Find Next

If an Edit>Find... is successful, finds the next match.

Replace...

Not currently implemented—use Edit>Change Common Info... to do large-scale changes.

Change Common Info...

Works on the Players, Master(Player) or Master(Team) windows. This brings up the Change Common Info dialog box, which lets you change information on a whole group of players or teams. This is most commonly used to change the team or club ID's.

Convert Case

For the selected players, this converts names to mixed case from upper case. The first character in the name, and the first after a comma, space, hyphen or apostrophe is capitalized, while all others are lower case. This will make a few errors (MCCARTY is Mccarty, not McCarty, DE LA TORRE is De La Torre, not de la Torre), but will get most names correct.

Standardize Name Format

For the selected players, this rearranges names into a standard format. The recommendation is Last, First, but you can also capitalize the last name (LAST, First) or put first name first. This would most commonly be used if you got information on a poorly formatted spreadsheet and had to fix the names. You choose the format using the Standardize Name Format dialog box.

Change Layout...

Works on the Players, Master(Player), Master(Team) and Games windows. Brings up the Change Layout dialog box, which allows you to customize the organization and appearance of the active window.
