In a team tournament, the "players" are, in fact, the teams. The individual players are members of a team, but you will have only limited access to their information.
You can use any of the standard methods to add teams to a section:
- use the Players-Add a Player operation
- drag and drop from a master file (not a "team" file, which is used to store information for use with combined individual/team tournaments)
- drag and drop from a player list for another section or for an old tournament
When you add a new team to a tournament or a master file, make sure you select the "Team" button in the Add/Edit a Player dialog box. WinTD won't allow you to put teams into a individual section, or individuals into a team section.
When you add a team directly to a tournament, or edit a team already in the tournament, there will be an "Edit Team" button in the top right corner of the Add/Edit a Player dialog box. Clicking on this will bring up the Team Setup Dialog Box. This is used to add players to a team, edit their information, delete players from a team or set the players board assignments.
See How To: Add Players to a Team for help on adding players, or Team Tournaments for general information on team tournaments.
